Telegram, the instant messaging service, has launched an update with the start of the new year 2024, providing a range of features to enhance user experience, particularly in the realm of voice and video calls. The update also brings the visual effect for message deletion to Android phones.
In an official announcement, the service revealed that its various applications across different devices would receive an entirely new user interface for both voice and video calls. Users will now encounter different visual effects during calls, such as a visual effect for the call initiation, another effect when the receiving party answers the call, as well as additional effects for ending and rating the call.
Telegram also highlighted improvements to the functioning of its calls, aiming to consume fewer resources on users’ devices. This optimization enables the calling feature to perform better on older phones and reduces battery consumption.
The new update also introduces features related to improving call quality and resolving some technical issues that users may have faced. Telegram promises further enhancements to call quality and connection stability in the coming months.
Additionally, the instant messaging service has added the “Thanos Snap Effect” feature, where deleted messages transform into scattered particles, providing a visually engaging effect reminiscent of the finger snap by the character “Thanos” in the movie Avengers: Endgame, causing the disappearance of half the world’s population.
This feature was made available to iPhone users in early December. Chatbots and Mini apps on Telegram receive new features with the update, including the ability to interact with user messages through Reactions emojis, replying to specific messages in conversations, and organizing links, quotes, and reactions.
Furthermore, these bots and apps can send replies to different chats, part of a significant update arriving for the Telegram platform for chatbots, with more details set to be revealed later in January.
