The 43rd edition of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, GITEX Global, commenced in Dubai with the active participation of 6,000 companies from 170 nations. Serving as a pinnacle event in the realm of technology, the exhibition covers modern innovations spanning artificial intelligence, data science, the digital economy, cybersecurity, and various other sectors intertwined with digital transformations.
Conducted over four days at the Dubai World Trade Centre, GITEX Global not only provides a platform for communication and meetings between governmental bodies and private enterprises but also acts as a hub for encounters among entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers. The event serves as a showcase for the latest products, inventions, and innovations.
Tracy Lormand, Deputy Executive Director of the organizing company “Con” for GITEX Global, underscored the exhibition’s significance amidst the rapidly evolving technological landscape, emphasizing the imperative to stay abreast of these changes in all aspects of daily life. She particularly highlighted the unique focus of this edition on the advancements in artificial intelligence technologies, deeming them indispensable.
Lormand expressed her enthusiasm for the return to Marrakech for the second edition of “GITEX Africa,” lauded as the best launch of a similar technological event globally. She anticipates that this edition in Morocco will serve as the launchpad for a substantial project in health technology in Africa, shedding light on emerging sectors like smart agriculture, water desalination, and financial technology.
In tandem with GITEX, Dubai hosts the “GITEX North Star Expand” event, bringing together 1,800 startups from over 100 countries and more than 1,000 investors overseeing communities with assets exceeding a trillion US dollars.
