Samsung Australia has officially announced that the highly awaited Galaxy S24 series is set to launch on January 17th (January 18th in Australia). The company has confirmed through its social media channels that the intelligent Samsung assistant, Galaxy AI, will be integrated into these new smartphones.
The South Korean tech giant plans to unveil its latest phones during the annual Galaxy Unpacked 2024 conference, taking place this time in California. The flagship phones for this year, namely Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, will each bring their own unique features to the table.
For the first time, the Samsung Galaxy phone family of this year will introduce the smart assistant “Galaxy AI.” This assistant, based on Samsung’s artificial intelligence model called Samsung Gauss, will empower users with diverse capabilities, including text creation, image and video design through text commands.
Recent reports suggest that the Galaxy AI assistant will allow users of the upcoming Galaxy S24 phones to perform tasks such as writing messages, taking notes, summarizing texts, creating and editing images, and adjusting their details. Samsung is also anticipated to leverage artificial intelligence to enhance the camera capabilities of its upcoming phones.
In the previous year, Samsung unveiled a noteworthy feature of its new assistant—the AI Live Translate Call, offering real-time translation during calls. This innovation enables users to continue their voice calls seamlessly, even when conversing in a language they may not fully comprehend.
Anticipated specifications for the Galaxy S24 include the Samsung Exynos 2400 processor, 8GB of RAM, internal storage options ranging from 128GB to 512GB, a 4000mAh battery, a 6.2-inch 120Hz display, and a triple-lens rear camera setup. This camera configuration comprises a 50MP main lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP zoom lens, complemented by a 12MP front camera.
The Galaxy S24 Plus is expected to share similar capabilities with the standard version but with enhancements such as 12GB of RAM, a starting internal storage of 256GB, a larger 6.7-inch display, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
As for the top-tier Galaxy S24 Ultra, it will boast more advanced features. Diverging from the aluminum structure seen in other versions, the Ultra variant will feature a titanium body. Key specifications include a 6.8-inch 120Hz display, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, internal storage ranging from 128GB to 1TB, 12GB of RAM, a 5000mAh battery, and a quad-lens rear camera setup with a 200MP main lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and two zoom lenses featuring 50MP and 10MP resolutions, each supporting multiple optical zoom levels.
