After much anticipation, Rockstar Games has unveiled the official promotional trailer for the upcoming iteration of its renowned GTA series. This release signifies a groundbreaking moment as it introduces, for the first time in the game’s history, a female character as one of the central figures. Alongside this, players can expect substantial advancements in both the game’s graphics and narrative.
In an official statement, the company revealed that GTA 6 will unfold within the fictional city of “Vice,” a meticulously crafted virtual counterpart to the American city of Miami. The narrative of the new game revolves around a duo—a young man and a girl—who form a gang to undertake a series of missions within the expansive world of GTA 6. This storyline draws parallels with the notorious criminal pair “Bonnie Elizabeth” and “Clyde Chestnut,” whose exploits gained notoriety in the 1920s, executing numerous armed robberies across the United States during the Great Depression.
Scheduled for release by the year 2025, the new game will be available on platforms such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
GTA 5, the predecessor, has achieved remarkable success, surpassing 190 million copies sold since its initial launch in September 2013.
Sam Houser, the founder of Rockstar Games, emphasized that the latest Grand Theft Auto release represents a pivotal stride in the company’s ongoing mission to enrich the immersive experiences players encounter within the expansive realms of open-world gaming.
Despite Rockstar Games initially setting December 5 as the date for the teaser announcement, an unidentified account with the handle @Gta6trailerleak leaked a snippet of the announcement on the social platform “X.” Consequently, the company decided to release the complete trailer on its official YouTube channel a day earlier than the scheduled date. The unidentified account on “X” has since been banned.
