LG officially unveiled its premium TVs for 2024, belonging to the QNED and QNED Mini LED categories. These new devices combine Quantum Dot and NanoCell technologies, along with Mini LED backlighting, to produce high-definition colors with deep black levels, delivering high-quality image displays and highly realistic scenes, according to the company’s press release.
LG’s new TVs come in various sizes ranging from 43 to 98 inches. To achieve high contrast, QNED Mini LED TVs use Ultra-Fine Dimming technology to enhance color gradients and precise control of backlighting. QNED versions rely on a similar technology to adjust contrast with exceptional brightness levels.
The new LG TVs operate with the “Alpha 8 AI” processor, offering improvements in artificial intelligence mechanisms, processing speed, and graphics performance.
LG offers several AI-based features, including the AI Picture Pro feature, which uses deep learning algorithms to recognize faces, objects, and backgrounds within the scene to enhance their display. The AI Sound Pro feature produces virtual surround sound from the built-in TV speakers.
The QNED and QNED Mini TVs run on the “webOS” operating system, featuring a new version with several user interface improvements and support for AirPlay and Chromecast. LG has committed to providing updates for the new TV system for up to 5 years, marking a first for the company.
