Horizon has proven to be a standout success in the PlayStation brand’s history. Sony has responded by actively expanding the franchise, creating both main and subsidiary titles, including ventures into virtual reality. A key element of Sony’s gaming strategy involves utilizing Horizon to support their gaming services through the development of the Horizon MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game). Rumors suggest that NCSoft is currently working on this MMORPG, and recent revelations provide more insight.
Details about the project, codenamed “Project Skyline,” have come to light through recent job postings shared by Kurakasis on Twitter. A developer from NCSoft posted a job listing on LinkedIn featuring a logo with a similar style to the Horizon game series.
The development of Horizon MMORPG commenced in 2021, as per the resumes of NCSoft employees. Reportedly, a substantial team of 140 developers is dedicated to working on the game, marking it as a significant project within the studio.
There are speculations that the developer has secured the domain “Land of Salvation” for the game, possibly indicating its official title. Interestingly, there’s talk that NCSoft might be simultaneously working on two Horizon games.
Of particular interest is the fact that the game is currently under development using Unreal Engine 5, with plans for release on personal computers and smartphones. Surprisingly, there’s no mention of a PS5 version at this point.
I’m always on the lookout for engaging narratives, well-crafted scenarios, and thrilling dramatic plots in any video game. Additionally, I’m open to exploring competitive games that bring innovative and exciting concepts to the table.
