The organizers of the PITCH competition announced the winner, Breeshna, a no-code game development platform from the United States, at the conclusion of the Qatar Web Summit on Thursday, February 29th, supported by the Jusoor Foundation.
Breeshna, led by CEO Maryam Nasrat, caught the judges’ attention with its innovative approach that enables users to create, distribute, and monetize video games without the need for coding or design experience.
Maryam Nasrat, the founder and CEO of the company, expressed that such moments are important in the long and challenging journey of an entrepreneur, stating, “This kind of appreciation is truly wonderful.”
The platform provides its network of 175,000 users with a game builder editor, an AI-powered text-to-game converter, and a conversion tool that supports Web 3 technology.
In acknowledging the quality of its competitors on stage, Maryam remarked, “Even if I got the honor of sharing the stage with them, that’s just enough.”
Breeshna was founded two years ago and has raised “around $2.5 million from investors such as Paris Hilton and Randy Zuckerberg.”
The three finalists competed before a judging panel consisting of Ameen Matani from Jusoor, Zach Coelius from Coelius Capital, Somaya Ben Bida Dridi from Rassemblement Ventures, and Rama Shakaki from Transform VC, all heavyweights in the investment and startup world.
The competition was open to startups in two categories: “Alpha” and “Beta.”
The PITCH program, supported by Jusoor, encourages leading startups worldwide to participate in a direct competition on the theater stage.
Out of 1,043 startups participating in this year’s event, 40 startups qualified to compete in the competition, which lasted for three days, culminating in Breeshna impressing the judges, alongside qualifiers from Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom.
The Uzbekistan-based financial services company “Amon” and the UK-based healthcare solutions company “Raheez” secured the second place.
Earlier in the week, the Qatar Web Summit announced that its inaugural event hosted 15,453 participants from 118 countries, with 1,043 startups participating in the startup program.
