Google has rolled out a novel functionality for its intelligent chat platform, Bard, enabling users to pose questions to the chatbot about YouTube videos and receive in-depth responses pertaining to the content of those videos.
In an official blog post, it was disclosed that Bard now boasts a feature designed to analyze video content comprehensively, encompassing visual, textual, and auditory components. This analysis equips the chatbot to furnish users with detailed answers to their queries regarding the content of specific videos.
“We’ve taken initial measures to enhance Bard’s ability to grasp YouTube videos. For instance, if you’re seeking videos on preparing olive oil cake, you can inquire with Bard about the requisite number of eggs for the recipe,” the blog post explained.
Google highlighted that this new feature amplifies Bard’s proficiency in understanding YouTube videos, broadening its scope to adeptly address user inquiries, especially in the context of lengthier video content.
With this recent enhancement, Bard is now adept at handling videos on YouTube across various languages, including Arabic and English.
Users can activate this feature within Bard by logging into their chatbot account, navigating to the Extensions tab at the top right of the screen, and then accessing the adjacent key to add YouTube. Activating it will change its color to blue.
It’s noteworthy that Google has recently expanded Bard’s capabilities through the introduction of the Extensions feature, seamlessly integrating the chatbot with diverse Google services such as Google Flights, Google Hotels, Google Maps, and productivity tools like Gmail, Docs, and Drive.
Furthermore, Google has extended Bard’s interactive capabilities, making it accessible to teenage users. This feature, currently available exclusively in English, enhances Bard’s problem-solving prowess, offering detailed explanations with step-by-step clarity and aiding students in comprehending mathematical equations through a variety of exercises.
