Google announced yesterday, Thursday, the launch of a new version of its “Bard” application, dedicated to smartphones and based on generative artificial intelligence, named “GeminAI,” according to the French news agency.
The group explained in a statement that this new application, which will be downloadable on the “Android” system and can be used through the “Google” application on the “iOS” system from Apple, is “a significant first step in designing a real AI-based assistant program.”
Google indicated, for example, that a car driver can take a picture of their punctured tire frame and ask “GeminAI” for instructions on how to replace it. Users can also create a comment on a photo they took using the app.
Through the “GeminAI” application, several functions of the Google voice assistant will be available, including making calls or controlling smart devices.
The “GeminAI” app will be available starting Thursday in the United States, and will become available for use “in more countries” next week, supporting English, Japanese, and Korean languages.
