In a new video featuring Christopher Judge, the voice actor for Kratos in the recent God of War series, he revealed that he turned down an offer to voice the younger version of the character out of respect for the original voice actor. This led Sony to find an alternative performer.
The game, God of War: Ragnarok Valhalla, included a cinematic scene that depicted Kratos seeing his younger self. Since Christopher Judge is the current voice actor for the character in the new direction of the series, Sony offered him the opportunity to voice the young Kratos in the mentioned scene. However, he declined out of respect for the original performer, Carson, who played the character in the original trilogy. Judge praised Carson’s talent and acknowledged him as a significant reason for any other actor to have the necessary confidence and strength to continue the character.
The expansion for Ragnarok has received positive reviews on Metacritic, currently sitting at an 87% rating. It has been praised for introducing a new roguelike mode that adds diversity to the game. Additionally, it explores Kratos’s character and past, providing players with a deeper understanding and not necessarily the final glimpse of the true God of War.
The expansion was released mid-month as a free update for players on both PS4 and PS5 platforms. If you haven’t had the chance to experience it yet, what are you waiting for?
