The majority of departing Apple employees find their way to Google, as outlined in a recent analysis by “Switch on Business,” a firm specializing in startup business operations.
The analysis highlighted that more Apple employees choose to join Google than the number of counterparts moving from Google to Apple.
As per the data published, the analysis discovered 3,858 individuals currently employed at Google who transitioned from Apple. In contrast, Apple had 2,123 employees on its roster who were previously associated with Google.
This analysis drew insights from the personal profiles of tech company employees on the widely-used job platform “LinkedIn.”
In the case of Apple, its talent pool extends from Intel, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, IBM, Oracle, with slight contributions from Tesla, Nvidia, Adobe, Meta, Uber, Netflix, and Salesforce.
Intel secured the top spot as the leading contributor of employees transitioning to Apple, primarily due to Apple’s acquisition of Intel’s modem chip business in 2019, attracting personnel from that sector to join Apple post-acquisition.
Google emerged as the primary destination for those departing Apple, followed by Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Tesla, Nvidia, Salesforce, Adobe, and several others.
While it’s natural to observe a degree of overlap between lists of those joining and departing from Apple, it’s worth noting that Apple hires a relatively small percentage of its workforce from other tech companies, accounting for only 5.7%. This stands in stark contrast to companies like Google and Meta, where this percentage exceeds 25%.
