Billionaire Elon Musk shared a video on his X account Monday, showcasing the latest robot from his company, Tesla, performing an unexpected task – folding a shirt!
This domestic task might seem to be the latest non-automotive interest for Tesla, known for manufacturing electric cars, and Elon Musk, the entrepreneur who invests in various fields like social media and space. However, Musk continues to surprise the world with his diverse and unexpected interests.
The video demonstrated the robot, named “Optimus,” exhibiting flexibility and precision in its movements.
It is worth noting that “Optimus” is an early model of the robots that Tesla is developing. Optimus aims to emulate human characteristics and undertake mundane tasks that people may prefer not to do, such as folding clothes and going grocery shopping.
After further development, the new version of this robot is expected to possess additional physical capabilities, such as moving all its fingers fully and moving the thumb, allowing it to use various tools.
Tesla had previously showcased videos of the robot performing simple tasks like carrying boxes and watering plants.
