After over six months since Apple, the American tech giant, officially unveiled its groundbreaking “Vision Pro” glasses, markets are eagerly awaiting the launch of this innovative product in the first two months of the upcoming year.
Following years of speculation surrounding these glasses, Apple declared in June of the previous year, during its conference unveiling the product, that it would be introduced early in the new year.
Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the Vision Pro glasses will make their way into the markets by late January or early February of the approaching year. Kuo suggests that Apple will take delivery of the initial batch of glasses from manufacturers in approximately a month, with the first shipment totaling around 500,000 units.
According to Apple, the retail price for each pair of glasses will be $3,499.
Simultaneously, the precise figure for the initial production volume targeted by Apple remains undisclosed. A month after the glasses were unveiled, reports emerged indicating that the company had revised its target to less than 400,000 units.
TechCrunch, a tech-focused news platform, noted that even the adjusted figure of 400,000 units is still relatively modest given Apple’s stature and impact in the electronics market. Estimates suggest that the company managed to sell over 200 million iPhones in the current year.
Analysts concurrently view the Vision Pro as the most significant risk undertaken during Tim Cook’s 12-year tenure as Apple’s CEO.
These glasses are not merely cutting-edge in terms of technology; they also come with a hefty price tag, challenging even the loyal customer base accustomed to Apple’s products being pricier than equivalent offerings from other companies.
