Apple’s latest update provides users with an extended 10-day weather forecast, keeping them informed about weather conditions, chances of rain, and snowfall predictions. Updated widgets offer details such as precipitation percentage, daily forecasts, wind speeds, and air quality.
Additionally, users can now track the complete wind movement map for the next 24 hours, helping them plan accordingly. The update also enables advanced monitoring of the moon’s shape and evolution over an entire month.
Beyond these additions, iOS 17.2 enhances the capabilities of Apple’s intelligent assistant, Siri, allowing it to answer user questions about their health by accessing data from the Health app.
This update also introduces wireless charging with Qi2 technology for iPhone 13 and 14, a feature that surprised many users.
Moreover, the new release facilitates the sharing of various types of data between iPhone users through the AirDrop feature, including boarding passes, cinema tickets, and other exchangeable documents.
Apple also streamlines the return to favorite songs for Apple Music subscribers with the creation of a new dedicated tab called “Favorite Songs Playlist.”
The company gives users better control over how their listening history influences recommendations and the display of songs in the “Recently Played” list.
Simultaneously, Apple offers a new app for the digital watch, usable on the phone’s main screen and in standby mode.
The Enhanced AutoFill feature simplifies filling text fields in PDF documents by quickly suggesting names and addresses.
Two new features have been postponed to 2024: the first involves creating collaborative playlists on Apple Music, allowing friends to contribute to a song list. However, the delay is due to the company’s concerns about its potential use for user disruption. The second postponed feature is “AirPlay for Hotels,” allowing users to play iPhone content on hotel TVs using QR codes.
