Mikko Hyppönen has spent decades at the forefront of the battle against malicious software. The 54-year-old expert has successfully defeated some of the most deadly computer viruses, tracked their creators, and identified the initial computer from which they originated. He began selling information security software since his teenage years in his hometown of Helsinki, Finland.
According to an article by writer Thomas Macaulay on “The Next Web,” this engineer has received numerous awards and honors and has been listed among the 100 greatest thinkers by Foreign Policy magazine. Currently, he holds the position of Chief Research Officer at “F-Secure,” the largest cybersecurity company in the Nordic countries.
The writer explains that this Finnish expert is also the founder of an online Museum of Malware. However, his long career in this field is now facing challenges in light of the recent developments in the online world, particularly with the rapid progress made in the field of artificial intelligence. Mikko states, “Artificial intelligence changes everything; it represents a revolution larger than the internet.”
According to the writer, Mikko anticipates that this revolution will have a positive impact on the world, but he does not hide his concerns about the cybersecurity threats that will accompany these transformations. At the beginning of this year 2024, Mikko Hyppönen revealed his top five serious concerns for the new year from his perspective.
