Instagram recently launched a new feature enhancing story templates, empowering users to craft their own narratives through the “Add Yours” feature. This functionality allows users to integrate GIFs, texts, and images into story templates, facilitating seamless sharing with others.
To construct an “Add Yours” template, users can infuse GIFs, texts, and images into their personal stories. They can then select the “Add Yours” option from the sticker box, picking the elements they wish to include in the template.
Once a user shares their “Add Yours” template in their story, it becomes open for others to utilize and embellish with their own personal touches. While users contributing to the template cannot alter the predefined elements, they can certainly enhance them.
For users interested in adopting someone else’s template, a simple click on the “Add Yours” prompt within their story redirects them to the camera. Here, they can view all template elements and customize them by adding their own texts, images, and GIFs.
The faces displayed on the sticker’s left side signify other users who have left their mark on the template. The global rollout of the “Add Yours” template feature is underway on Instagram.
Tailored templates bring an entertaining dimension to the interactive sticker “Add Yours,” introduced by the platform in 2021. This feature allows users to respond to fellow users’ invitations to contribute to their stories.
Custom “Add Yours” templates enable Instagram to tap into emerging trends, providing its massive user base—surpassing a billion users—the chance to create distinctive templates featuring novel prompts and interaction possibilities.
Regarding Reels, Instagram introduced the “Templates Browser” in July, enabling users to personalize pre-designed templates for their video content.
In a recent update, Instagram also introduced an AI-driven background editing tool, empowering users to modify photo backgrounds by responding to story prompts.
Furthermore, there’s an AI-powered tool for sticker creation, allowing users to generate stickers from text prompts.
