Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, is unveiling a groundbreaking feature in its upcoming 2024 smartphone release – an artificial intelligence-based real-time translation tool. This innovation, set to debut in the next iteration of the Samsung Galaxy, promises to revolutionize communication.
The new feature facilitates instantaneous translation of both spoken and written text during phone calls. Scheduled for release in early 2024, the spokesperson did not specify the range of languages supported. With embedded artificial intelligence, this capability will operate seamlessly, even if one of the conversing parties does not use a Samsung device.
Samsung assures users that conversing in different languages through AI will be as effortless as activating subtitles during a TV show. The company emphasizes the security of private conversations on their smartphones.
This revelation coincides with Samsung’s launch of its AI generative tool, Samsung Gauss, designed to create linguistic content, symbols, and images. Samsung plans to integrate this tool into various products soon, without providing specific details on the products or a definitive integration timeline.
As the world’s leading smartphone manufacturer, Samsung dominated the market with a 25% share in total sales from July to September, outpacing Apple (16%), according to the specialized site Counterpoint.
