The expansive region, spanning more than 500,000 square meters, boasts a dedicated 100,000 square meters for gaming, dining, and entertainment, promising an environment conducive to living, working, and playing.
Qiddiya Investment Company’s Board of Directors proudly unveils the Gaming and Esports Zone within the city of Qiddiya—an unprecedented, multi-use space for gaming and esports, aimed at drawing gamers worldwide and solidifying Saudi Arabia’s global standing in these domains.
This strategic move echoes Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s unwavering support for the gaming and esports sector, evident in the launch of the National Strategy for Gaming and Esports and other initiatives targeting the ambitious goals set for this sector, captivating the attention of two-thirds of society.
Abdullah bin Nasser Al Dawood, the Executive Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, asserted, “The gaming and esports sector is experiencing remarkable growth, and we’re witnessing Saudi Arabia’s ambitious vision to elevate esports. Our role is to facilitate major events and tournaments by enhancing infrastructure, allowing the Gaming and Esports Zone in Qiddiya to beckon the world for living, learning, and competing.”
He emphasized, “Beyond catering to professional esports players, the Qiddiya Gaming and Esports Zone is designed for enthusiasts of electronic games across all ages and interests. It stands as a transformative space, making the realm of gaming and esports a tangible reality—the true home for the gaming and esports community.”
Encompassing over 500,000 square meters, with a dedicated 100,000 square meters for gaming, dining, and entertainment, the zone ensures a holistic environment for living, working, and playing, featuring high-quality residential units and hotel rooms in harmony with its identity.
The four state-of-the-art arenas, designed to global standards, will play host to major international events year-round, accommodating a total of 73,000 spectators. Notably, one of these arenas boasts a 5,300-seat stadium, ranking among the top three largest esports stadiums globally, distinguished by the largest indoor LED screen in the esports world.
The zone is set to welcome up to 25 esports clubs from various corners of the globe, serving as a hub for living, training, and competition. It will also open its doors to sector leaders and offer more than 30 regional headquarters for leading development companies. Aligned with the national strategy to position Saudi Arabia as a global gaming and esports hub by 2030, the zone is poised to play a pivotal role in attracting up to 10 million annual visitors.
