On Thursday, Linda Yaccarino, the CEO of the “X” platform, revealed that more than 10 million individuals have joined the site in the current month of December. This disclosure coincides with the company, formerly known as “Twitter,” facing potential losses amounting to $75 million by year-end, following the suspension of major brands’ promotional campaigns on the platform, as reported by the New York Times.
Access to “X” remains unavailable as the platform does not regularly release user data for commentary on December’s subscription rates compared to the monthly average. The reason for Yaccarino’s disclosure has not been clarified yet, according to Reuters.
The platform’s owner, billionaire Elon Musk, previously stated in July that approximately 540 million people use the site on a monthly basis.
Last month, several companies, including Apple, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Paramount Global, declared their decision to temporarily halt advertisements on “X.”
Musk directed criticism at advertisers who withdrew from the platform, citing an incident where they aligned with a user claiming that Jews were inciting hatred against whites, according to the same agency.
