Utilizing the recently introduced “Secret Code” feature in WhatsApp, users can enhance the security of their locked chats. This functionality allows users to hide locked chats within the application, revealing them only by entering the secret code in the app’s search bar.
WhatsApp has officially launched this feature, providing an additional layer of security for users with locked chats.
By employing this feature, users have the capability to conceal locked chats in the WhatsApp application. These chats will remain hidden until the user enters the secret code in the search bar within the app.
To create a secret code in WhatsApp, users can navigate to the “Locked Chats” folder, access settings, choose “Secret Code,” and then opt to “Create Secret Code.”
The secret code can include letters, numbers, symbols, and emojis. It is advisable to set a unique secret code distinct from the device unlock password.
Once the secret code is established, the locked chats folder disappears from the chat list. Users can bring it back by entering the secret code in the search bar.
WhatsApp previously introduced the chat lock feature, placing chats with activated lock options in a private folder within the application. Access to this folder requires identity verification through facial or fingerprint recognition or the device’s password.
WhatsApp, via its official blog, confirmed the ease of locking chats by long-pressing any chat. The rollout of this new feature has commenced and will be progressively available to all users in the coming months through subsequent updates.
