Elon Musk, the American billionaire, responded to an invitation from Hamas to visit Gaza and witness the aftermath of Israeli airstrikes. Musk, known for generating controversy during his recent visit to Israel, expressed concern about the current situation in Gaza. On his X platform, he acknowledged the danger but emphasized his belief that long-term prosperity in Gaza would benefit all parties.
Hamas had extended the invitation following Musk’s sympathetic statements and visit to Israel, where he pledged to do everything necessary to halt the spread of hatred. The billionaire suggested three options for dealing with the conflict in Gaza, including eliminating those who target civilians, altering education in Gaza to prevent extremism, and developing the Palestinian coastal sector under the Israeli blockade.
Musk also reiterated his commitment to assisting in the rebuilding of Gaza after the prolonged month-and-a-half-long war. His visit to the Israeli areas affected by a Hamas attack left a profound impact on him, stating that it was challenging to witness the locations where people had lost their lives.
Israeli authorities previously accused Musk of antisemitism, prompting him to clarify his position. He denied any hostility towards Israelis and emphasized his support for freedom of expression. However, major commercial companies withdrew their advertisements on the “X” platform, leading to substantial losses for the popular service.
